A romantic relationship between male characters: Reagan Aldric “Rick” Vallejo (a polsci student) and Aldrin Denver “Rin” Ferrin (a journalism student). Their story began with Rick's childhood trauma. When Rin, a breadwinner for his family, came into his life, he changed himself, also because of Shiloh's advice that he should seek therapy. Before the story ends, it is revealed who's behind Rick's trauma. And then, they have to separate for their own sake. At the very beginning, I was already in tears because I could relate to what he went through. Their love story is so painful that I had to stop reading because I found myself sobbing at every chapter. However, I found comfort and peace knowing that the most important relationship is the one we have with ourselves. I learned that it's okay to prioritize yourself, your growth, your well-being. It's okay to take a break and leave everything behind that makes you suffer. This story may be heavy but is worth reading.
The author's way of writing is what I love the most. She set the standard so high that I'm having a hard time reading other authors' bl stories. Every chapter was a roller coaster of emotions.
